Chelsey writes empowering science fiction and magical realism stories for stage, screen and games. She’s biased towards young protagonists, optimistic futures, and pointy ears.

Her writing brings light to the ugly truths of a beautiful world and strives to address the lonely paradigm shifts of growing up. She challenges readers and audiences to see magic in mundane reality.

Though Chelsey loves the free flow of literary writing, she developed a preference for the structure of scripts. The constraints of playwriting are a creative challenge that she enjoys, but writing screenplays with imaginary budgets of infinite supply is a dream. She must acknowledge, building worlds, character bibles and writing for games of all kinds offers endless giggles.

Chelsey has a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Minnesota and an MFA in Creative Writing from Full Sail University. She was the Art Voice Columnist for the Grand Rapids Hearld Review and wrote many articles for artists, non-profits, and community events.

Chelsey grew up in a theater community which fostered her love of art and guided her towards opportunities to work as an actress, model, dancer and artist. She has a great respect and passion for yoga, energy work and tarot. Currently, she lives in Grand Rapids, Minnesota with her cat Lal.
